Long Range Finish Remix For Break legends Hybrid

Long Range have completed a new remix for breaks legends Hybrid for release soon.

The track is called "Control" & is a new direction for Long Range as they have gone more Tech House than on previous mixes & productions.

This new direction Long Range are taking will also be prevalent on their next album which will be released on the LRR label.

The plan is to take the music into the commercial realm (what Phil as Orbital was known for) yet still trying to remain true to their original roots.

Long Range Complete Movie Score

Long Range have just completed the full score for Paul Andrew Williams new movie "Dummy".

They have delivered a very cinematic score that fully complements the movie.

Paul Andrew Williams is perhaps best known for his critically acclaimed, award winning movie "London To Brighton" which featured a young girls friendship with a street girl as she runs away from London to escape some violent gangsters which ends up leaving the girl in grave danger.

The movie should be screened in 2009 & is already a favourite within the festival circuit.

The Grid Confirmed To Play Big Chill After Roisin Murphy

The Grid have just been confirmed to close the Castle Stage after Roisin Murphy at this years The Big Chill Festival on August 1st.

This is a fantastic opportunity for both Dave & Richard not only to play after Roisin (or a fantastic opportunity for her to play before them maybe!!), but to close the stage too!

Dave Ball Interviewed For Prism Films Documentary

Dave Ball has just finished an interview for Prism Films for a new documentary looking into the effect the 60's, 70's & early 80's music has had on the electronic music scene & how it has shaped it into what it has become now!

As a member of Soft Cell, Dave is a perfect example of how influential these times have been on the music scene from then, to now!

Prism Films are responsible for some fantastic documentaries & programmes in recent years & we are sure that this will be a huge success!

The DVD should be out in all good stores shortly!

The Grid & Long Range Have Fun At The Great Escape Festival

The Grid & Long Range has a great time on the "20th Anniversary Of Acid House" panel hosted by John Robb at The Great Escape Festival.

The place was packed as they spoke about their time at what is perhaps one of the best era's for dance music.

Dave Ball reminisced at his time as Soft Cell & how important they were in the development of electronic music (along with Kraftwerk, Jean Michel Jarre & the likes), whilst Phil Hartnoll spoke of his time in Orbital with his brother Paul.

Richard Norris spoke of how The Grid's legendary track "Swamp Thing" was only meant to be a joke that ended up being an international hit!!

Nick Smith wondered what all the fuss was about as he was only a "nipper" (kid to all you US readers) when the "2nd Summer Of Love" erupted!!!

And how can we forget our brothers & sisters "across the pond" in the USA for their influence on our UK Acid House scene as together we all produced some classic Acid hits!

Our very own Phil Hartnoll (Long Range) is set to play at Hungary this Summer at one of their most prestigious events.

So Phil is not only busy DJing around the place, he is also very busy with Long Range with fellow partner Nick Smith on new remixes, festivals & the 2nd Long Range album!

Angel Artists are proud to announce our exclusive management of Journalist & pop pundit John Robb!

John has appeared as a pundit on many television programmes including Channel 4's "Top 100" shows, BBC's "I Love the 60s/70s/80s/90s" series and "7 Ages Of Rock", as well as offering expert pop culture opinion on several TV debate shows and both BBC and Channel 4 news. He has been a regular contributor to Sky's "The Pop Years", and produced and presented a 10 part series on the history of punk rock. He also presented a 12 part guide to the arts in North West England.

He was also co-manager of the pop act Cornershop who had the massive hit with "Brimful Of Asha" which featured the Fatboy Slim Remix & was a number 1 hit!

Our very own Long Range & DJ Phil Hartnoll are booked to play one of their legendary Ableton AV sets at this years Big Face Weekender @Pontins in the UK over at Camber Sands on 26th April.

Expect plenty of cool music taken from their "Madness & Me" album on LRR Recordings as well as some new gems!

Angel Artists are pleased to announce Long Range to the family here.

Long Range is the new project by Phil Hartnoll who is best known as one half of legendary live & recorded act Orbital who were one of the biggest electronic acts for almost 20 years & had such hits as Chime, Belfast, Satan, Funny Break & more. They were also famous for their legendary live sets with the now classic "headlight glasses" & for their version of Dr Who.

Now with writing partner Nick Smith who is best known for his work with labels such as Dragonfly (Youth's Psy Trance label) & for his work on Ridley Scott's Hannibal movie, they have released a new album entitled Madness & Me which has been very well received both critically & publicly, & what with a selection of high profile live dates, Long Range are set for great things.

The new album harks back to the ambient textures of Orbital, but with that new distinct style that will soon be synonymous with them.

The Grid Set To Play Dublin

Yes, The Grid have been asked to take their live set to Dublin as the 'Doppelganger' tour starts to get underway.

The concert is to be on 4th April 2008 with a support to be announced but rest assured that the show will be just as exciting as the Scala & Manchester Academy sets this month.

Expect a selection of old Grid classics as well as new tracks as featured on their new Some Bizzare release 'Doppelganger'.

"Sorrow" is a cover version of the classic David Bowie track & Dave has kept it very electronica & minimal so as to pay homage to the song.
